Field Day Tuesday June 2nd!!

Mrs. Barry has compiled a list of fun activities that your children can do right in your own backyard with supplies that you already have around the house.

We can create virtual competition of sorts!  We look forward to a day filled with joyful activity!

Virtual Field Day Events 2020

  1. Jumping Jacks - Count the number of Jumping Jacks you can do in one minute.
  2. Egg Relay-Balance an egg (plastic or hard boiled) on a spoon. Walk from a starting point to a shoe and back without dropping the egg.
  3. Obstacle course- Use any 5 objects as cones (examples-shoes, stuffed animals, buckets) and space them evenly. A) Jump over each object up and back. Try 3 times and record your best time. B) Weave around each object and back. Try 3 times and record your best time.
  4. Paper airplane- Make a paper airplane. Record how far you can get your airplane to fly.
  5. Water relay-Fill a bucket with water. This will be the starting line. Place a cup or mug about20 feet away from the bucket. Soak a sponge (or sock) in the bucket of water and run to the cup. Squeeze water into the cup, run back. Repeat until the cup is full.
  6. Sock toss-Toss rolled socks into a bucket. Count how many times you can get socks in the bucket for 3 minutes.
  7. Toss game- With a partner, toss a small ball (or rolled socks) back and forth. Start close. Take a step back each time you catch. When you miss you are finished. Try again to improve your distance.
  8. Chalk obstacle course-Make an obstacle course with sidewalk chalk. Here is an example:

  9. Bear crawl Relay- Pick a starting point and an end point. Crawl on your hands and knees and move a ball forward using only your head. Time how fast you can do it. Try again and try to beat your time.
  10. Balancing act- Make a starting point and place a shoe 5 feet away. Balance a book on your head and walk around the shoe and back. When you have done this without the book falling, take the book off your head and read the book!
  11. Limbo -Use any stick, pool noodle, etc.How low can you go?

 


5th grade Religion:Pentecost Sunday May 31st.

Monday Zoom Class 8:30. Discuss the meaning of Pentecost and watch the video on Pentecost.

Tuesday No Zoom class.  Field Day

Wednesday No Zoom class: Please do a ten minuet retreat. Some ideas for your retreat; you can pray (talk to Jesus), read from the Bible, listen to spiritual music, or write in your journal to Jesus.
