Summer Letter to Families

Dear Parents:

We’re just a few weeks into the summer, and already, there’s a lot happening at Bishop McHugh School. I wanted to share some highlights, as well as preview some important updates.

PreK Summer Camp Letter to Parents

Dear Parents:

We’re excited about the start of PreK Camp, and wanted to touch base with you so that your child is prepared to have a wonderful time with us.

Please make sure to send in the following items each day with your child:

  • A lunch with a drink
  • A snack with a drink
  • A sippy cup
  • A change of clothes
  • A bathing suit and towel
  • Footwear that is not flip-flops (sneakers and sandals provide more secure footing for our movement activities)
  • Any other personal items that your child may need

It also would help us greatly if you could label your child’s things so that they will not be accidentally “borrowed” by another camper.

We will be sending home permission slips for your child to use the wading pool and water toys. We also will have those slips available at camp, in the school office, should you need one.

Finally, should you need to contact us during camp, you will be able to reach us in two ways. Dial the main school number, (609) 624-1900, extension 9 for PreK Camp. We look forward to seeing you at camp!

Best regards,

Ms. Jodi Fenimore & Ms. Allison Stathius

To our extraordinary Bishop McHugh Community-

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for all of the words, cards, gifts, prayers, parties, and activities that occurred last week in response to the announcement of my retirement. I was and remain overwhelmed, humbled, and awed by the outpouring of kindness and generosity.
What a school! What a family!

I began teaching at Bishop McHugh in September of 2001;
on my 5th day of school, the World Trade Center was attacked.
While the entire world was in chaos, gripped with fear and sadness,
I sat in the Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School gym listening to children sing, "Let There Be Peace on Earth." I clearly remember feeling that I couldn't imagine wanting to be at any other place at that moment. And, I have maintained that feeling every day for the last 16 years...including last Thursday during the 7th grade-led surprise party and during Friday's closing Mass. Bishop McHugh is so special!
As stated in the Book of Genesis,
"Surely,  the presence of the Lord is in this place."

Thank you to all of our wonderful families for your commitment and support and for allowing your amazing children to be a part of our family.
Thank you to all of our students, past and present;
you have taught me every day!
Thank you to the hardest working coworkers and most dedicated teachers that I have met!
Thank you to all who have volunteered to coach and to help our athletic program over the years!
Our Storm is the perfect Storm because of you!

Thank you to all who have made both my years at Bishop McHugh and my departure from Bishop McHugh so magical!
I may be leaving to spend more time with my husband in Florida,
but there is no doubt that
Bishop McHugh IS the happiest place
on earth!

May the Storm be always at our backs!
God bless Bishop McHugh-

-Mrs Larkin-

  Vision 2020

We have developed Vision 2020 to set Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School (BMRCS) on the course for the next several years, and beyond. It is the result of a yearlong process that has involved teachers, staff, parents, students, alumni, community members and clergy. We reviewed best practices of other schools, included feedback from key stakeholders and consolidated ideas from committees of faculty, parents, students and alumni to create a relevant, comprehensive plan that identifies where BMRCS will be in the year 2020. Importantly, this plan is designed to be a living, breathing document—one that is reviewed annually and updated as needs change.

Note: Not all ideas presented in Vision 2020 will be able to be implemented; in some cases, they will serve as guidelines to help direct us to our overall goals.  Click here to see the Vision 2020 Report.

Mark your calendar as one of our first major events this year will be the Golf Outing & Par-Tee!

We’re pleased to announce the ‘Country Western’ theme for this year’s annual Golf Outing and Par-Tee to benefit Bishop McHugh. (Thank you, Michelle, Colleen, and Jim Kelly!)

The 2015 Golf Outing and Par-Tee is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Sand Barrens Golf Club, 1765 U.S. Route 9, Swainton, N.J.

We golf during the day and enjoy a Par-Tee (cocktails and dinner) at night. It’s $150 per golfer (golf and Par-Tee) and $50 per non-golfer (Par-Tee only). Registration is on the Quick Link at

Because of the ‘Country Western’ theme, we welcome jeans, boots and cowboy hats at the Par-Tee. You may dress casually and comfortably.

We are currently in the process of looking for golf gifts. If you own a business or know of one that may be willing to donate, please put us in touch with them! Simply talk to Michelle Powell or email your suggestion to Thank you again, and we look forward to seeing you on October 2nd!
