STORM WATCH......

BISHOP MCHUGH HAS WORLD CUP FEVER!!!!

We've talked about it for years, now, it's really happening.....

Bishop McHugh is starting a competitive soccer team in the fall.
This September, students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grade (BOYS & GIRLS) will have an opportunity
to tryout for the 18-20 positions on our soccer team which will compete in the Atlantic Cape League.

All games will take place after school so students should be able to continue playing for Rec teams.
However, the league limits participation to one team per season so players may not play soccer and run cross country at the same time!

Coach Fred Schalek will be starting pre-season workouts in August. We'll also have a parent/Athletic Association meeting to select uniforms (and fundraising) around that time.
Anyone interested in becoming a part of our new Storm team, please send a reply email to Mrs Larkin at llarkin@bishopmchugh.com so we can make a Storm Soccer contact list.

Catch the fever...be a part of the Storm!

Storm Gear is now for sale.  Click here for an order form. Also, our CYO Banner Fundraiser is always available. Purchase a banner with your business or family name on it and it will be on display in the gymnasium for all to see. Click here for more information.

Please note the following rules for ALL GAMES-

Shirts MUST be tucked in at all times.
NO jewelry (even bracelets or pierced earrings can be worn)
Headbands, wristbands, tee shirts must be either green, white or black...AND-
THE WHOLE TEAM MUST WEAR THE SAME COLOR! (Talk about it before the game)

OBVIOUSLY, GOOD (CHRISTIAN) SPORTSMANSHIP IS EXPECTED AT ALL TIMES!

Respect the refs and your coaches at all times (appreciate all they do for you--I mean the coaches).

Remember to try to leave the gym like you found it (after games & practices)

Parents - We can use lots of help at games- kitchen, scoreboard, scorebook, clean up, etc.

Anyone, who has not had a physical or notified Nurse Thomas of the scheduled date, WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY.

Finally, I know it's a tough time of year, but...if you have not paid the participation fee-- please try to get it in as soon as possible!

All of that being said... please have fun!

The Athletic Association

The Athletic Association is a group of concerned parents and interested adults who support, organize, and fundraise for our athletic teams. The Athletic Association meets on a monthly basis at 7:00. All are encouraged to attend. Cross Country is underway; basketball is just around the corner... Come on out to the first Athletic Association Meeting tonight at 7 PM. Bring you ideas and your support. Everyone is welcome. Let's plan, prepare and pray for another great year.

Our Teams

Students in grades 4-8 have the opportunity to participate competitively in both Cross Country and Basketball.

Our Cross Country Team competes in the Atlantic-Cape League in Sept./Oct.

Our Basketball Teams competes in both the Atlantic Cape League and the Cape Atlantic League beginning in November.

Participating students must have parental authorization form signed, must have a physical completed within the last year, and must pay the accompanying registration fee.

The Future

We are currently exploring the opportunity of including a soccer field, a baseball field, and a track on site in coordination with Wildwood Catholic High School. Hopefully, this will create new and varies athletic opportunities for our students.

GO STORM!!!
